Nashville Entrepreneur Day scheduled as an all-afternoon event on May 15.

Occidental Petroleum, through its subsidiary, Oxy Low Carbon Ventures, acquired the the Direct Air Capture (DAC) company, causing an eruption of celebration throughout the community.

PYA was the only firm headquartered in Knoxville with more than one CPA named to the list.

The agreement will bring government and industry together to advance extended reality (XR) technology software and accelerate technological development.

The program allocates up to 60 percent of available node-hours on three high-performance computers, including Frontier at ORNL.

The PYA Ballard Innovation Award is the largest regional gift of cash and in-kind services available to East Tennessee entrepreneurs. It is named after Tom Ballard, a long-time supporter of the state's entrepreneurial ecosystem. 

It's the eighth annual edition of the event that is hosted by the Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union.

He says, ""We need to stop building start-up communities that look good on paper and start building ones that are messy, real, and honest."
