What’s Next Knoxville? The city wants your input.
The Comprehensive Plan will guide decisions on land use, transportation, and investment priorities for the next 25 years.
The City of Knoxville is asking residents a big question: What should this city look like for the next 25 years?
The City of Knoxville and Knoxville-Knox County Planning have launched What’s Next Knoxville, a community-wide initiative to update the city’s Comprehensive Plan — a policy document that will guide decisions on land use, transportation, and investment priorities through the next quarter century.
Why does your feedback matter?
Knoxville has been one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S., and that growth brings real decisions about how and where the city develops. The Comprehensive Plan is designed to make sure those decisions are guided by both data and the values of the people who actually live and work here.
This is a direct opportunity to shape the infrastructure, zoning, and investment climate that will define Knoxville’s economic trajectory for decades. The kinds of decisions this plan influences include where new development goes, how transportation connects people to jobs and institutions, and how the city prioritizes public investment.
How can you get involved?
The easiest entry point is a short community survey, available in English and Spanish, that takes five to 10 minutes to complete. Every submission is entered to win a $50 K-Brew gift card.
The planning team is also hosting in-person listening sessions across the city and accepting requests to visit neighborhood meetings.
See the full list of events and listening sessions here.
Residents can submit general comments or questions directly through the website, and a newsletter is available for ongoing updates throughout the process.
