Wolfpack Investor Network announces partnership with Harbright Ventures

WIN was launched in December 2016 as an NC State-affiliated nonprofit LLC.

WRAL TechWire reports that the Wolfpack Investor Network (WIN) has formed a partnership with Harbright Ventures to enhance WIN member engagement, provide pre- and post-deal investment leadership, and increase support for the broader North Carolina State University (NC State) entrepreneurial community.

Described as NC State’s alumni-driven, early-stage investor group, WIN has already invested more than $20 million across 34 portfolio companies. The collaboration with Cary, NC-based Harbright Ventures is expected to strengthen opportunities and professional support for WIN members, NC State students, and WIN portfolio companies. Harbright Ventures is a member-driven, private equity firm that provides capital and guidance to early and growth-stage opportunities.

“This partnership embodies NC State’s ‘Think and Do’ spirit by fostering collaboration and leveraging expertise throughout the community for the benefit of our students,” said Chancellor Randy Woodson. “The innovative work of the Wolfpack Investor Network aligns closely with key elements of the university’s strategic plan, Wolfpack 2030: Powering the Extraordinary, including empowering students for a lifetime of success and impact, elevating the national and global reputation and visibility of NC State, and leading in developing innovative partnerships, entrepreneurial thinking and applied problem-solving.”

WIN was launched in December 2016 as a university-affiliated nonprofit LLC. The Chair of the WIN Steering Committee is NC State’s Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research Commercialization.
