Southeast Shoutouts | Sherry Deutschmann taking her BrainTrust initiative to Charlotte

The Council for Entrepreneurial Development celebrating 40 years in business in October.

For Charlotte from Nashville:

Charlotte Inno reports that Nashville’s Sherry Deutschmann is bringing BrainTrust, her membership organization that works to help women-owned companies reach $1 million and beyond in annual revenue, to the Queen City. After growing LetterLogic, her patient billing and printing company, to $40 million in revenue before selling it in 2016, she founded BrainTrust in 2019.

According to the company’s website, a group of five to eight women comprise a VaultTM, and each member “commits to a four-hour monthly meeting in a safe, confidential space. Members are expected to show up to VaultTM meetings prepared and ready to report on the progress of their businesses, current challenges and immediate needs. Those needs are met through the exchange of experiences and the sharing of tools, resources, referrals and recommendations. Your VaultTM will quickly become your lifeline, and your fellow members will become your most trusted supporters and advocates, holding you accountable to your goals for yourself and your business.”

To join BrainTrust, women must have at least $100,000 in annual revenue and own 25 percent of the business. Deutschmann expects to have about 50 members by the end of the year, according to the Charlotte Inno article.

From Atlanta, GA:

Launched in 2013, the mission of Health Connect South is to serve the health community as a platform to promote regional health collaborations. In the 11 years since it was initiated, the event has grown into the Southeast’s largest annual gathering. The 2023 event brought together more than 1,200 decision-makers, innovators, and the next generation of health leaders. The 2024 gathering will be an all-day event on September 18 at the Georgia Aquarium.

The preliminary agenda is available here. A link to registration can be found at this link.

From Cary, NC:

The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) is planning a celebration in mid-October to commemorate its 40th anniversary. The North Carolina non-profit is dedicated to connecting regional entrepreneurs with the resources they need to build and launch a successful business in the Research Triangle Region.
