PYA wins two international video awards

More than just a consulting and CPA firm and the power behind teknovation.biz, Knoxville's PYA now has four international video awards to its name.

A film produced by PYA, the power behind teknovation.biz, received two awards in the 44th annual Telly Awards, adding to the two the firm also won last year. Known as the world’s largest honor for video and television, the international competition recognizes excellence in video and television across all screens and video platforms.

PYA’s film, “The Story of Abridged Beer Co.” won a Silver Telly for General – Branded Content: Documentary: Short Form and a Bronze Telly Award for General – Branded Content: Food & Beverage. The video tells the story of Abridged Beer Co., a Knoxville-based craft brewery and restaurant led by Founder and Co-Owner Jesse Bowers.

“The Story of Abridged Beer Co.” is a mini-documentary that tells the story of the founding and growth of the popular brewery and restaurant. Recognized by the Telly Awards for its stunning visuals, captivating sound and lighting, and memorable storytelling, the film conveys a message of determination and vision It was produced by PYA marketing team members, Trevor DavisMatthew Lennon, and teknovation.biz Assistant Editor Shannon Smith.

The 2023 Telly Awards received approximately 13,000 entries—the most in 10 years—from 50 countries. Top video and television content producers were represented in the competition, including Airbnb, Audible, BritBox, Disney, NASA, National Geographic Society, Netflix, Paramount, and many others. See the full list of winners of the 44th annual Telly Awards. The entries were judged by worldwide leaders from video platforms, television, streaming networks, and production companies.

“The caliber of the work this season coming from creators such as PYA truly has reflected the theme of breaking out and standing out,” said Tellys Executive Director Sabrina Dridje.

In 2022, the firm was recognized with a Silver Telly Award and a Bronze Telly Award for its documentary, “Glow | The 490 BioTech Story.” That video was produced after 490 BioTech won the inaugural PYA-sponsored “Ballard Innovation Award.”
