Phyllis Nichols’ last day leading KAUL is Friday

Tomorrow marks the end of an era as the Knoxville edition of the TN Ledger captured in this article.

That’s when Phyllis Nichols (pictured here), President and Chief Executive Officer of the Knoxville Area Urban League (KAUL), steps down after 22 years in the top leadership position and 28 years in all with KAUL. The article chronicles the journey and accomplishments of the former teacher who has led the organization focused on enabling African Americans, other minority groups and the underserved to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights.

We spotlighted Nichols and KAUL in this May 2022 teknovation.biz article that described work on helping ensure minority contractors and businesses were not left out of work on the new downtown baseball stadium.
