Next “Bridging Research & Practice” coming in February

The conversation will feature two UTK faculty members along with Misty Mayes and John Bruck.

The Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (ACEI) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) invites experienced professionals, entrepreneurs, and researchers to the second edition of its “Bridging Research & Practice” event series.

Scheduled for 4 p.m. February 12 at the UT Creamery (former Visitor Center at the corner of Neyland Drive and Kingston Pike), the purpose of the event is to bring innovators from various industries together to cultivate meaningful connections, share valuable experiences, and network.

Two local entrepreneurs – Misty Mayes of Management Solutions LLC and John Bruck who had his own engineering firm in Cincinnati – will join UTK Professors Brian Krumm (Law) and Myra Loveday (Education, Health and Human Sciences) for a conversation about their experiences taking calculated risks and navigating uncharted territories in entrepreneurship. They will also shed light on the strategic decisions that propelled their ventures to success, and research that backs up those notions.

Launched at the end of August, the inaugural session featured serial entrepreneur Gary Pratt, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Surgical Review Corporation, and Angelique Adams, CEO of Angelique Adams Media Solutions in a discussion with Haslam College faculty members Jessica Jones, Assistant Professor and one of the inaugural ACEI Research Fellows, and Timothy Munyon, Professor of Management and Co-Founder of Red Castle Human Capital.

By bringing together accomplished entrepreneurs and respected academics, ACEI aims to facilitate a dynamic exchange of ideas that will contribute to the growth and evolution of entrepreneurial endeavors in East Tennessee.

The series is open to everyone who is eager to learn, connect, and grow. You can register to attend on the ACEI website.
