Knoxville-based PracticeTek acquires former Silicon Valley-founded start-up

PracticeTek, a Knoxville-based provider of software and payments solutions to the retail healthcare market, has acquired GrowthPlug, a practice marketing platform provider that was founded in Silicon Valley and now has offices in San Jose, CA and Portland, OR.

Founded in 2020 and located in West Knoxville, PracticeTek is a portfolio company of Greater Sum Ventures. The former provides more than 16,000 dental, orthodontic, chiropractic, optometry, dermatology, and other healthcare practices with best-in-class software solutions that help them acquire, engage, and bill their patients and manage their practices to grow faster, according to CB Insights.

According to this recent news release, GrowthPlug helps healthcare practices become modern, efficient and accelerate their patient acquisition by delivering an all-in-one practice growth and automation software powered by AI. It described GrowthPlug as “radically changing the way today’s healthcare practices grow, manage and retain patients.”

GrowthPlug provides mobile-optimized websites, business listings management, social media publishing, reputation management and intelligent analytics, helping doctor’s offices to turbocharge their digital presence and accelerate revenue.
