CO.LAB holds kick off press conference for the “Sustainable Mobility Accelerator”
The program is run in collaboration with Wisconsin-based gener8tor and with support from EPB among other local organizations and corporations.
As she kicked off Tuesday’s press conference to introduce the five teams in the second cohort of the “Sustainable Mobility Accelerator,” Tasia Malakasis, Chief Executive Officer at The Company Lab (CO.LAB) in Chattanooga, reminded those in attendance that the focus is on the future movement of people, goods, energy, and data.
“We search the world for the next innovators to bring to Chattanooga,” she said, adding, “We now need the community to embrace these teams.”
As previously reported in teknovation.biz, the five were selected from a pool of 132 applicants from 19 different countries. Each chosen start-up will receive an initial $20,000 investment with the potential for additional funding of up to $100,000 and pilot programs tailored to Chattanooga’s technology ecosystem.
- SensFlo (La Jolla, CA) offers a software-as-a-service production optimization platform that is redefining efficiency in the metal and plastic manufacturing industries, searching for a personalized nugget of information that will allow clients to take action.
- WEAV3D (Norcross, GA) is tackling global carbon emissions in the transportation and built environment with inexpensive, high-performance, lightweight materials. It seemed to be focused on the automotive industry that is facing more and more global mandates such as reducing the weight of vehicles.
- RueData (Mexico City, Mexico) is a software-as-a-service solution for transport fleet tire management. Clients like Cemes, Heineken, and JBS have seen up to 30 percent reduction in tire costs with RueData.
- Moduly (Montreal, Quebec) is reducing peak energy consumption and carbon emissions with a plug-and-play home battery storage solution.
- Motoring Labs (Indianapolis, IN) leverages advanced computer vision technology to extract actionable insights in real-time from commercial fleet and warehouse traffic for clients in the logistics sector. The start-up collects up to 120 data points during its automated process and can compare the current inspection with previous ones.
The program is run in collaboration with Wisconsin-based gener8tor and with support from EPB among other local organizations and corporations. It will end in December.
