Black Tech Week returns to Cincinnati in July

More than 7,000 attendees are expected to attend this year's festivities.

Cincy Inno reports that Black Tech Week is returning this July for its fourth year in the Queen City, and the 2025 iteration will be headlined by Keke Palmer, an award-winning actress, singer, producer, and entrepreneur. The dates are July 14-16 at the Aronoff Center for the Arts in downtown Cincinnati.

The Lightship Foundation acquired Black Tech Week in 2022 – relocating the conference to Cincinnati that same year. More than 7,000 attendees are expected in 2025, and the agenda includes more than 100 sessions, workshops, and networking events. Black Tech Week, which was founded in 2015 in Miami, FL, was shopped around before committing to Cincinnati at least through 2026, thanks to support from the Mayor’s Office, Visit Cincy, REDI Cincinnati, and others.

More recently, the organization, described as a leader in entrepreneurial support and innovation, announced its acquisition of Founder Gym, a premier training program designed to equip founders with the skills to successfully fundraise for their business. This acquisition represents another step in Lightship’s mission to empower entrepreneurs across the nation.

“Entrepreneurship is the engine of innovation and progress. By adding Founder Gym to the Lightship family, we’re ensuring that more founders have the resources they need to thrive,” said Candice Matthews Brackeen, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lightship Foundation. “Founder Gym’s mission, alongside Lightship Bootcamp and Black Tech Week, strengthens our ability to support founders across every stage of their journey.”
