Applications opening in a month for the inaugural “Space-Edge Accelerator”
The 12-week hybrid program is a collaboration between Vanderbilt, three other universities, and two organizations.
In a little more than a month, applications will open for the inaugural “Space-Edge Accelerator.”
It is a collaboration involving Vanderbilt University, Arizona State University, University of Central Florida, University of Florida, and Space Foundation. The inaugural offering is tailored to the biomedical sector and is being launched in collaboration with members of the Orbital Reef University Advisory Council.
“The Space-Edge Accelerator isn’t just about launching biomedical innovations into space; it’s about empowering the Mid-South community to realize their dreams,” said Dr. Charleson Bell, Director of Entrepreneurship and Biomedical Innovation at the Wond’ry and Research Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering. “The Space-Edge Accelerator is a unique platform for our faculty, students, alumni and community to shape the future of space health, in line with Vanderbilt’s commitment to inclusive innovation and the ‘Dare to Grow’ ethos.”
Applications will open August 8 and close September 8. The 12-week hybrid program starts September 23 and will cover key areas of biomedical innovation that can either benefit from the space environment or advance human space flight.
