Y-12, UT technology makes it seven local “R&D 100 Awards” wins
Add one more local technology to the list of winners in this year’s “R&D 100 Awards.” ChIMES, which stands for Chemical Identification by Magneto-Elastic Sensing, is a portable chemical sensor developed by Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC researchers at the Y‑12 National Security Complex and the University of Tennessee. It joins six other winners associated with Oak Ridge National Laboratory that were announced earlier.
