Workbase Crossville brings co-working and community to the Cumberland Plateau
Community partners cut the ribbon on Workbase Crossville on Wednesday, to celebrate a long-time vision coming to fruition.
Last Wednesday, the historic Cumberland Mountain School campus in Crossville buzzed with energy as neighbors, entrepreneurs, remote workers, and community leaders gathered to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of Workbase Crossville, a new co-working and office space powered by The Biz Foundry.
The event marked more than just the opening of a building—it signaled the beginning of a new chapter for Crossville’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Between coffee-fueled conversations, laughter, and networking, attendees explored the renovated Susie Gray Hall, now home to a modern workspace designed to foster connection, creativity, and growth.
In June, while describing the mission behind the space, Tiffany Anton, the Vice President of The Biz Foundry, said it’s about more than desks and wifi.

“We’re creating a place where work meets inspiration, where entrepreneurs can plug in, focus, and be part of a supportive community in an environment that energizes them,” she said.
What’s Inside Workbase Crossville?
The facility offers:
- Five private single offices
- Two shared/group offices
- Four dedicated desks
- A conference room and a full kitchen
- Event space available for rent
The private offices, each approximately 10×12 feet, are available for $449 per month. Members also gain discounted access to a spacious on-site event venue, ideal for workshops, client meetings, and company gatherings.
Nestled on 18 acres, the location offers walking paths and natural light, creating a peaceful work atmosphere that sets Workbase apart from traditional office settings. The building itself, known as Susie Gray Hall, was once part of the Cumberland Mountain School, founded in 1921 by Reverend Robert Hershey. The school gave local students a chance at education, many of whom worked the land to support the institution.
According to The Biz Foundry, that legacy of work, learning, and community lives on in Workbase’s mission.
