“What’s the Big Idea 48-Hour Pitch Competition” launches at 6 p.m. today
It’s showtime for this year’s edition of “What’s the Big Idea 48-Hour Pitch Competition.”
Hosted by the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center (KEC) for The Development Corporation of Knox County and sponsored by Harper Auto Square, the weekend-long event begins at 6 p.m. today when the seven participating teams gather at KEC’s offices on Market Square. They’ll be joined by mentor, helpers and others who will work with them to fine-tune their ideas ahead of the finale at 6 p.m. Sunday at Scruffy City Hall, also on Market Square.
The seven finalists, competing for up to $10,000 in reimbursable expenses related to the launch of their companies, are:
- Day One;
- Doula Ink;
- GridFruit (see a previous biz article on the start-up here);
- LaunchParty;
- PowerUp Fitness (read a previous biz article here);
- Primeaux; and
- Songboarding.com.
