WalletHub ranks states on those best for remote workers

Tennessee is the highest among Southeastern states.

Tennessee ranks #15 among all states in terms of those localities best for remote workers, according to a new report from WalletHub, the personal financial website. That ranking places the Volunteer State just two spots behind North Carolina among Mid-Atlantic or Southeastern States.

How did WalletHub evaluate the best states for remote workers?

It compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across two key dimensions, “Work Environment” and “Living Environment.” WalletHub then evaluated those dimensions using 12 relevant metrics, with each metric graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the best infrastructure. Finally, the firm determined each state and the District’s weighted average across all metrics to calculate its overall score and used the resulting scores to rank-order the sample.

Florida at #16, Georgia at #17, and Kentucky at #21 were the closest to Tennessee.
