WalletHub ranks best and worst places for veterans to live on the day they are celebrated
Tennessee two largest cities do not rank very high compared to other communities.
Monday is Veterans Day, a celebration of the end of World War I which has been called “The Great War.”
In honor of the holiday for many individuals, WalletHub, the personal financial website, ranked 100 of the largest cities across the country in terms of the Best & Worst Places for Veterans to Live in 2024. Because of the population constraints, only two Tennessee cities were included, and neither was highly ranked.
Nashville placed #81 among the top 100, while Memphis came in at #98. The top five cities, in order, were: Austin, TX; Orlando, FL; Raleigh, NC; Tampa, FL; and Virginia Beach, VA.
The methodology involved comparing the 100 most populated cities across four key dimensions: (1) employment, (2) economy, (3) quality of life, and (4) healthcare availability.
