UT at Chattanooga schedules two pitch competitions on successive days

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) has two pitch competitions scheduled for next month.

On April 12, UTC’s Office of the Vice Chancellor for for Research will join with UTC’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), and the UT System’s Vice President for Research, Outreach and Economic Development to host the  “FLY for Researchers Pitch Competition.” Six faculty members and their teams will compete for the opportunity to win significant grant money to advance their research and commercialization efforts. A panel of judges will evaluate the five-minute pitches followed by Q&A  and then select the top three winners. The first place winner receives $20,000 with $10,000 going to the first runner-up and $5,000 awarded for third place. The event is scheduled for 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the CIE offices in the MAPP Building, 410 East 8th Street. To register to attend, click here.

Exactly 24 hours later, UTC’s Rollins College of Business will host the “Undergraduate FLY Pitch Competition” that, as its name implies, is focused on undergraduate students. The event will also be hosted in the CIE space, and the prize package includes $2,000 for first place, $1,000 for second place, and $50 in “Scrappy Cash” for all others who pitch in the event. The top two winning teams will also receive additional non-cash prizes including free accounting and legal consulting.
