UGA developing an innovation district that links town and university
The University of Georgia (UGA) began laying the foundation for an innovation district a few years ago. More recently, the beginning stages of the physical district are developing along Broad Street, where downtown Athens and UGA’s campus meet. Here, the organizers believe that the district can thrive as a magnet for start-up formation and economic development alongside the city’s vibrant art, music, and food scene.
