UC Berkeley names its first-ever Chief Innovation and Entrepreneurship Officer
California is always viewed as a trendsetter, so this should not come as a surprise that the University of California Berkeley just named its first-ever Chief Innovation and Entrepreneurship Officer.
Richard Lyons, the former Dean of the school’s Haas School of Business, assumes the position January 1 and, according to this news release, will be responsible for working “with campus partners to further develop and communicate Berkeley’s rich portfolio of innovation and entrepreneurship activities to the benefit of our students, faculty, staff, and startups. He will also be responsible for developing strategies to raise the visibility of these activities internally and externally and to create high-value partnerships with stakeholders.”
