The U.S. Economic Development Administration announced additional funding last week under the “CARES Act Recovery Assistance” initiative, and two area organizations were recipients.
- The East Tennessee Development District in Alcoa will receive a $400,000 grant to respond to the coronavirus pandemic by hiring two new staffers to provide critical technical assistance resources for local governments in the district’s 16-county region.
- The Upper Cumberland Development District in Cookeville will also receive $400,000 to hire additional staff and invest in technology to enhance the economic development efforts of the region’s communities.
