Trident Technical College forms consortium to train EV workforce
Trident Technical College in North Charleston, SC has led the formation of a consortium that its members hope will create the next generation of innovation and talent for the electric vehicle industry.
Called “Collaborative Research: REVVED” – REVVED is an acronym for Revolutionizing Electric Vehicle Education, the group will receive $2.83 million from the National Science Foundation to fund the project. The driver for the effort is a growing need to develop a workforce that can build and service electric and autonomous vehicles, as well as develop the cybersecurity to protect them.
According to this article from the Charleston Regional Business Journal, Trident Technical College’s partners include Greenville Technical College, Spartanburg Community College, and Clemson University. Several workforce development centers and industry partners are also involved.
