Three winners named in annual TVFCU “Virtual Idea Leap Grant Pitch Night” competition

Twelve started earlier, and three companies competed late yesterday in the finals of the Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union’s “Virtual Idea Leap Grant Pitch Night” competition hosted as part of “Startup Week Chattanooga.” A total of $20,000 in grants was up for grabs – $10,000 to the first-place winner, $7,000 for second place, and $3,000 for third place.

The awards were as follows:

  • First place – Locals Only Gifts & Goods that features Tennessee made goods from more than 90 local Tennessee artists and artisans. The company specializes in small-batch and artisan crafted goods.
  • Second place – Chatta-Cakes Bakery that offers 6-inch cakes for “grab and go” in a variety of flavors; and
  • Third place – Cashew, described as an “airy, casual cafe offering vegan baked goods and sandwiches plus rotating specials, coffee & tea”;
