Thoughts offered on mandating COVID-19 vaccinations in workplace
Speaking of COVID-19 vaccinations and the workplace, three attorneys from Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein wrote this article for WRAL TechWire where they offered their opinions on if and when employers could mandate that employees must receive the vaccination.
In the article, they clearly noted that the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission issued guidance in mid-December explaining that employers may adopt a COVID-19 vaccination requirement but cautioned that under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), such programs must be “job-related and consistent with business necessity.”
They also discuss approaches to a voluntary program that might include incentives.
