There’s now an app to find the expert you need
Among other uses, Intro focused on those who don't have as robust an opportunity for those coffeeshop creative collisions.
Need business advice, but cannot get anyone to answer your cold emails? Well, guess what? If you said, “There must be an app that addresses it,” you would be correct.
According to this article in The San Francisco Standard, the app is named Intro, appropriately enough, and it is the brainchild Raad Mobrem, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the company. Among the options are aspiring entrepreneurs can book a half-hour with an Andreessen Horowitz venture capitalist for $2,500. Or 90 minutes with a hypnotic coach “focused on breaking through root traumas quickly” for $1,250. Or ask an interior designer for advice on how to revamp a room, at a rate of $900 for 15 minutes.
“If you have the luxury of living in Silicon Valley where you can go to a coffee shop and strike up a serendipitous conversation, that’s amazing. But there are a lot of people who don’t live in Silicon Valley,” explained Mobrem.
He also shares a personal experience on the start-up’s website that no doubt drive his thinking about Intro.
“When I was younger, I was walking down the street with a friend,” Mobrem wrote. “My friend pointed out that the person across the street was none other than Paul Orfalea, the Founder of Kinko’s. I went right up to Paul, tapped him on the shoulder, and said, ‘Mr. Orfalea, I heard you’re the Founder of Kinko’s. I’m a young aspiring entrepreneur and would like to ask you some questions.’ He invited me to sit down and in 15 minutes, I learned more about entrepreneurship than I had ever before, and I was inspired to take action. I felt like he believed in me and in that moment, I decided to become an entrepreneur.”
