Tennessee Tech announces date for its next “Faculty Innovator Showcase”

The free event is set for the morning of April 23 as part of the University's annual "Research and Creative Inquiry Day."

The Office of Research and Economic Development at Tennessee Tech University (TTU), in collaboration with Launch Tennessee’s Tennessee Technology Advancement Consortium, invites the public to attend the second annual “Faculty Innovator Showcase” from 10 a.m. to 12 noon CDT on April 23 at the Memorial Gym on campus.

This exciting event highlights cutting-edge faculty research and innovation, providing attendees with a unique opportunity to explore groundbreaking work in science, technology, engineering, and more. Community members, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and government representatives are encouraged to attend to learn about the latest inventions shaping the future.

For the first hour of the event, attendees can engage with faculty as they present their latest research, inventions, and technological advancements in an interactive exhibit format. Then, for the next hour, faculty members will deliver dynamic, seven-minute talks about their projects, their impact, and future applications.

The “Faculty Innovator Showcase” is part of TTU’s annual “Research and Creative Inquiry Day,” a campus-wide event that celebrates research and creative work across disciplines. In addition to faculty presentations, attendees can also explore student research posters, where undergraduate and graduate students from all departments will showcase their own innovative projects.

“This event is a fantastic opportunity for the public to see firsthand the groundbreaking research and innovation happening at Tennessee Tech,” said Dr. Michael Aikens, Tech’s Assistant Vice President for Economic Development. “We encourage entrepreneurs, business leaders, government officials, and anyone passionate about innovation to attend and engage with our faculty researchers.”

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is encouraged at this link.
