“Startup Knox Ecosystem Guide” adds listing of start-ups in latest iteration
The inaugural version of the “Startup Knox Ecosystem Guide,” released less than two months ago, has already been enhanced with the first of several planned additions over the next few months.
John Bruck, who co-championed and co-funded the guide along with Brandon Bruce (see our early April teknovation.biz article), said version one of the online resource included a list of organizations that support entrepreneurs and their ventures.
“We thought the guide would help start-ups quickly find connections into services and other help they might need for any specific situation,” Bruck explained, noting “the response to the initial launch and guide has been extraordinary.”
So, with so much good receptivity, along comes the first enhancement that has just gone live.
“Our latest release, the ‘Startup Directory,’ shows the current start-ups in the region along with their founders, websites, and thumbnail descriptions,” Bruck says. There are three descriptive tags enabling a search for similar companies and, as important, a form for submitting new companies to the directory and for those already listed to provide updated information about themselves or corrections to what is currently listed.
We also appreciate the addition of a link to any articles about the listed start-ups that have been published in teknovation.biz.
“‘Startup Knox’ was designed to be a collaborative force in support of the local/regional start-up community – a platform for building a more vibrant, sustainable, and diverse start-up economy in Knoxville and the surrounding region,” Bruck says. “Our goal is to help establish the Knoxville region as the premier regional hub for innovative, collaborative, entrepreneurial, and growth-oriented companies.”
The update with a list of about 100 start-ups is only the beginning of enhancements.
“We have several new and really exciting features on the drawing board, at various stages of development, that will be rolled out this summer and beyond,” Bruck says. “We’ve also begun to discuss partnerships with several organizations that will bring additional resources to the platform, allowing us to build more features and effective functionality into the platform.”
