Serial entrepreneur opens Sessions Wellness, Knoxville’s first comprehensive wellness facility
Sessions Wellness on Deane Hill opened in early 2026 to offer a range of hormone and peptide treatments, red light therapy, contrast therapy, IV therapy, hyperbaric chambers, and more.
Some of the leading causes of underlying health conditions in the United States are metabolic and cellular dysfunction, high inflammation, and a poor cardiovascular system. A new wellness center in Knoxville offers modalities to target one or all of those conditions for preventive care and longevity treatments.

Sessions Wellness opened in February 2026 with a host of service offerings: compression therapies, IV-treatments, red-light, contrast therapy, and more. It is all attributed back to the founder, Tye Thompson’s own personal medical history and journey navigating traditional healthcare practices.
“In my life, I’ve had a lot of different health issues. I was diagnosed with alopecia universalis as an eight-year-old, and then was diagnosed with a variety of other autoimmune conditions,” Thompson shared. I’ve been told to take more prescription drugs, more shots, and be on lifelong medications.”
Like many people with complicated autoimmune conditions, Thompson searched for every possible avenue he could take to improve his quality of life. That’s when he was introduced to holistic wellness.
“I looked at my diet and tried to heal the cause instead of the symptom, and my life has changed since then,” he said. “Now, I want to bring that same healing to others.”
Finding the right partners
Partnerships have characterized much of Sessions Wellness’ early success. They are strategically located within the same building as other holistic health practices, giving customers a one-stop shop for all their wellness needs.
Sessions focus specifically on relaxation, recovery, and longevity. On the upper floors, Lumiere Plastic Surgery and Med Spa specialize in Botox, lasers, and lip filler, and most recently, Sessions partnered with MC Wellness to provide a more concierge-style experience where members can address hormones, energy, and metabolism.
Misty Cottrell, the founder of MC Wellness, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and certified menopause practitioner who specializes in hormone optimization and menopause care. She combines traditional hormone treatments with lifestyle optimization to help people live their best lives.
“Having the partnership with Sessions really helps me to integrate their services into the whole body care,” she said. “Recovery works better when the body is medically optimized, and medical optimization works better when recovery is prioritized.”
Additionally, in the early days of starting a wellness center, Thompson knew it took bringing the right experts on board to enhance the customer experience. That’s where Meredith Wallace comes in.

“I went to school to be a physical education teacher and a health teacher, so I’ve been in this industry forever,” she said.
Wallace spent time managing wellness practices at major corporations and traveling across the world to educate and train others. She is an ultramarathoner and bodybuilder, and spent years after her corporate career managing a local wellness store. Joining the team to open Sessions was a “perfect fit” for the next leg of her career.
“Joining sessions has meant so much to me because it really kind of engulfs everything that I’ve ever wanted. We’re really catering to a holistic approach to detox the body, control hormones, and optimize well-being. This place is the only place in Knoxville that has a comprehensive approach,” Wallace said.
Prioritizing longevity in Knoxville
“We all have one body and one life to live. If you were told you have one car to drive for the rest of your life, you would probably get its oil changed more often than you currently do. That’s how we are. We only get one body,” Thompson said.
Since opening Sessions, the center has served clients ranging in age from 17 to 70.
“Longevity is not just for intense athletes or people who are looking to recover better,” he said. “This is for everybody. What you do today has downstream effects for the next 20 years.”
