Senior executives seem to confirm end of Local Motors

Following-up on yesterday’s post about the reported demise of Local Motors, another publication – autoevolution – posted this article late Sunday night with quotes from several senior executives at the company or with ties to Local Motors.

  • Ivan Golubic, former Interim Chief Financial Officer, was quoted as saying: “In light of today’s announcement by Local Motors, the only thing I will say, so proud to be able to be part of this leadership team and lead the finance team in such challenging and exciting times.”
  • Senior Vice President Jeff Hollowell was quoted as saying: “As with most adventures, they must come to an end. Local Motors has closed its doors.”

Another publication – 3D Printing Industry – quoted a LinkedIn post from Chris Stoner, Local Motors’ ex-Vice President of Sales and Customer Success. “I am disheartened to announce that Local Motors will cease to exist as of January 14. I was only there a few months, but loved every minute of it. I made some great friends, both locally and globally, which makes it worthwhile. The autonomous vehicle space is an exciting emerging market with plenty of opportunity.”

As best as we can tell, there has still not been an official news release from the company. The last post on its LinkedIn page was three weeks ago.
