Louisville-based Render Capital expanding funding across south, midwest

Render Capital, founded in 2020 in Louisville, KY, is expanding beyond its focus on its immediate region following the announcement of a doubling of its available funds.

The company that has offices in Louisville and Clarksville, IN was launched by Access Ventures, a private operating foundation, as an intentional local investment strategy to increase access to capital for the region’s entrepreneurs.

Last week, Render Capital announced the closing of its second fund which doubles the size to almost $30 million of which $5.3 million has been deployed in 30 start-ups. Concurrent with the second fund, the firm also announced that it will have an expanded footprint to include more areas of the Midwest and South in addition to its current target area of Jefferson County (Kentucky) and Floyd and Clark Counties (Indiana). The new fund will be focused on “making seed growth stage equity investments into startups that have innovative solutions, experienced teams, and are attacking a large market with global application.” Targeted industries include those in healthcare/health information technology, supply chain and logistics, advanced manufacturing, consumer goods, eCommerce, food and beverage, and business-to-business Software-as-a-Service.
