Public can vote for HCS EdConnect in latest competition

IDC Government Insights named finalists last week in the fifth annual “Smart Cities North America Awards,” and Chattanooga and Hamilton County are again one of those finalists in the “Digital Equity and Accessibility” category for the HCS EdConnect initiative.

The city earned its spot as a finalist the program, which helped more than 15,000 area students without access to reliable internet obtain no-cost, in-home fiber internet through EPB during the pandemic. Now, the organizations behind HCS EdConnect are asking for help from the community to vote for the project.

Voting is open to the public until at 5 p.m. this Sunday (March 13). Individuals can cast their vote directly for Chattanooga, Hamilton County and HCS EdConnect on option 6 at this link.
