Project FinTech making statewide tour in mid-January
The first stop is Knoxville followed by Chattanooga, Memphis, and Jackson.
The Nashville Entrepreneur Center is planning a road tour for its “Project FinTech” program later this month with four stops.
The nine-month program provides early stage start-ups access to subject-matter experts, curriculum, mentorship, and the benefit of community. The program focuses on fintech start-ups with a preference for Tennessee-based companies and an emphasis on the “banktech” sector defined as technology seeking to improve, automate, or scale the delivery or use of payments, deposits, loans, or relationships between retail or commercial banks and their customers.
As noted in this August 2023 post in teknovation.biz, three Tennessee companies and six others were selected from 40 applicants for the inaugural cohort.
Details of the roadshow are as follows:
- Knoxville – 8 a.m. to 12 noon EST January 16 at the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center on Market Square. To register, click here.
- Chattanooga – 8 a.m. to 12 noon EST January 17 at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, 601 McCallie Avenue . To register, click here.

Each session begins with a pre-networking breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. That will be followed by a customized program for the next hour at all but the Jackson stop. From 10 to 11 a.m. (9 to 10 a.m. in Jackson), Project FinTech leads will share more information about the accelerator program and ways to get involved. Then, attendees will hear pitches from Project FinTech’s inaugural cohort.
