Press Sports might have found its growth fuel in NIL

Press Sports, an early stage Atlanta start-up that bills itself as “LinkedIn for athletes,” raised a $1.5 million seed round to focus on product development.

And, with the emergence of the “Name, Image and Likeness” (NIL) opportunities for college athletes, the new venture might just have found the catalyst to fuel its growth.

As described in this recent Atlanta Inno article, the two Co-Founders launched the start-up in 2018 in response to a need they experienced as they grew up playing sports together. The need: they didn’t have many pictures or videos documenting their athletic careers. Press Sports addresses that void, allowing athletes to have that documentation and build their brands, which is helpful for high school athletes looking for collegiate recruitment opportunities or collegiate athletes looking to monetize their clips. Fans can also browse Press Sports, which is set up like video sharing app TikTok.
