North Carolina might be looking at start-ups per 1,000 population
Here’s a statistic we have not seen before . . . number of start-ups per 1,000 population. It is part of an initiative that Maryann Feldman, Research Director at the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise at the University of North Carolina is leading.
“It’s sort of a surprise that we don’t have good data on new entrepreneurial start-ups across the state,” she told attendees on Monday during the first day of the “NC Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Summit.” So, one data point that she has investigated is the start-ups for 1,000 people. For North Carolina, it’s 4.4. Wonder what it might be for the Volunteer State?
