Knoxville entrepreneurs to share hiring, start-up insights with UTK students

The event on April 26 is a collaboration between the Anderson Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and the Innov865 Alliance.

The Anderson Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) and the Innov865 Alliance are hosting a program next week featuring a conversation with three local entrepreneurs.

Titled “Inside the Entrepreneurial Mind: Knoxville Business Leaders,” the event from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. on April 26 will be held in Room 402 of the Haslam College of Business on the UTK campus. It will be moderated by Shawn Carson, a Haslam College Lecturer and longtime supporter of local entrepreneurs.

Panelists include:

  • Corey Tyree, Chief Executive Officer of Trillium Renewable Chemicals;
  • Greg Ellin, Principal OSCAL Engineer at RegScale; and
  • Chris McAdoo, Director of Strategy and Engagement at the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center and, before that, Owner of Best Behavior Creative Club, a marketing firm.

According to the social media announcement, the event is focused on student entrepreneurs to give them insights into what local business leaders look for in potential hires, steps they can take to become an entrepreneur, and how to get involved with businesses in Knoxville. Following the discussion, students will have the opportunity to approach the entrepreneurs and learn about job or internship opportunities.
