PYA announces Katelyn Biefeldt as new Managing Editor of Teknovation
Katelyn Biefeldt joined PYA in 2023 as Teknovation's Assistant Editor, learning under the mentorship of Teknovation's Founding Editor, Tom Ballard.
For more than a decade, Teknovation has been shaped by the steady leadership, curiosity, and passion of Tom Ballard, and I count myself among his many admirers.
Tom leaves behind big shoes to fill—and I’m delighted to share that Katelyn Biefeldt is more than ready to step into the role of Editor in Chief.
Katelyn, who has worked alongside Tom and has played a critical role in Teknovation’s growth and evolution over the years, brings a deep understanding of our innovation ecosystem, great experience in photojournalism, and a genuine commitment to telling the stories that matter most to East Tennessee’s entrepreneurial community.
Further, she is simply a delightful and kind professional, and PYA is fortunate to have her as a leader on our team. I’m excited for what’s ahead for Teknovation under her leadership.
