John Deere Power Products to expand manufacturing operations in Greeneville

John Deere Power Products will invest nearly $15 million and add 25 new jobs through 2025 in Greene County.

On Thursday, Governor Bill Lee’s Office and the Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) announced an exciting expansion in Greene County.  John Deere Power Products officials announced today the company will expand its manufacturing presence in Greeneville. The company has pledged to invest nearly $15 million and add 25 new jobs through 2025 in Greene County.

“We are proud to announce the expansion of John Deere Power Products in Greene County, where it’s the fifth largest employer. We appreciate the company’s partnership and look forward to seeing the success that follows this latest expansion,” said TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter.

The expansion will allow the company to meet increased projected customer demand for the Z300 and Z500 zero-turn mowers. John Deere Power Products is part of the Small Agriculture & Turf division at Deere & Company. The business was originally founded by John Deere in 1837 and engages in the manufacture and distribution of equipment used in agriculture, construction, forestry and turf care.

“This partnership reflects Tennessee’s ongoing support of John Deere’s sustained growth and expansion of our riding lawn equipment (RLE) business in Greeneville. For over 35 years, John Deere has been investing in our Greeneville facility, and customer demand supports further steady growth, both in our traditional RLE forms and our new electric ZTrak. This will require ongoing capital investment and modest job creation through 2025,” said Fabio Castro, the John Deere Factory Manager in Greeneville.

It is one of the highest-volume John Deere plants in the United States.
