International investor SixThirty Ventures opening office in North Carolina
WRAL TechWire reports that SixThirty Ventures, which has an international footprint, is opening an operation in the Research Triangle region and has selected an alum of Durham-based IDEA Fund Partners to lead the Tar Heel state office.
That individual is Joe Darcy who describes SixThirty Ventures in the article as investing “in early stage companies at the intersection of health, wealth and privacy” and, more specifically, “technology, data, and socio-economic forces (that) are transforming financial services, healthcare, and privacy.” He adds, “These forces are converging in the daily lives of both consumers and institutions paving the way for big, bold ideas. Our unique platform brings start-ups together to collaborate with institutions who have the resources and expertise to help bring their ideas to market, creating a force multiplier for both.”
Eighty-six companies are listed in its portfolio.
