‘Inflection Point Capital’ brings together growth-stage start-ups in Knoxville

The group is hosted by the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center and facilitated by Keith Hickey at Three Roots Capital.

Raising capital in today’s market is tougher than ever. Investors are more selective, due diligence is more rigorous, and founders must prove capital efficiency and traction early. Inflection Point Capital, hosted by the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center (KEC) and facilitated by Keith Hickey at Three Roots Capital (3 Roots), is a three-week program aimed at supporting growth-stage founders cut through the noise, refine their investor narrative, and confidently structure the right funding strategy.

The first-ever group included Endeavor Composites, Mindwave, Orion Therapeutics,  Unified Track, and Eonix.

The program followed three distinct categories in regards to raising capital.

  • Week 1: Capital Readiness & Financial Narrative
  • Week 2: Equity, Valuation, & Term Sheet Essentials
  • Week 3: Beyond Equity – Smart Capital Strategies

As a part of the final session, Hickey facilitated a discussion between Travis Howerton, the Co-Founder of RegScale; Téa Phillips, the Founder of ATS Innovations; and Brandon Bruce, the Founder of Cirrus Insight, Uncat, and most recently Market Square Ventures (MSV). All three have successfully raised outside investment to further their businesses. Phillips recently raised half a million dollars from a Cookeville base, Howerton has raised more than $25 million and just announced the start of a series B round, and Bruce has both raised millions through his previous ventures and deployed millions through MSV.
