“HealthTech Accelerator” alum Xcellent Life selected for “Velocity Accelerator” in Birmingham
Victor Brown, the West Tennessee Entrepreneur who co-founded Xcellent Life, received good news last week. The company that most recently completed last year’s “HealthTech Accelerator” operated by CO.LAB has been accepted as one of eight start-ups in the 2021 cohort of the “Velocity Accelerator” operated out of Innovation Depot in Birmingham.
“We have persisted and we have moved forward even in the absence of investment for years,” Brown said in an email. “Now, we have our first small amount of outside capital, but I believe it will be the domino. We have some amazing opportunities in the pipeline. Stay tuned for what I believe will be an awesome year for Xcellent Life.”
As described in this August 2020 teknovation.biz article, the start-up is a cloud-based platform where a comprehensive set of health factors is collected from individuals, bio-metric sensors, mobile applications, and software systems. Artificial intelligence is applied to understand how those factors are correlated to one another and how they are affecting a person’s health based on very specific personal information like age, sex, medical history, genealogy, lifestyle and environmental factors.
Last year’s “HealthTech Accelerator” was the second CO.LAB program in which Brown participated. The first was the 2016 edition of the “GIGTANK 365 Accelerator” and, ironically, an alum of that year’s program – Mixtroz – also went to to participate in the 2018 “Velocity Accelerator” cohort.
