Geekz Ventures launches virtual pre-accelerator for Black and Latinx entrepreneurs

Atlanta Inno reports that a local entrepreneur, whose UrbanGeekz news site covers technology and entrepreneurship among the African-American and Latinx communities, has launched a pre-accelerator program for the same individuals.

Geekz Ventures, as the new program is named, is currently recruiting for its inaugural cohort with a launch date in the first quarter of 2023. The new initiative is the brainchild of Kunbi Tinuoye, UrbanGeekz Founder and Chief Executive Officer. The goal for the first cohort, which will be virtual, is five to 10 entrepreneurs whose start-ups are early stage.

“We are open to working with start-up founders in any industry, but our focus is on media, connectivity, entertainment, and mobile technology,” Geekz Ventures writes on its webpage.

Separately, Tinuoye has been selected to participate in the highly competitive Techstars Foundation: Accelerate Equity program (see news release here).
