FoundersForge schedules webinar to introduce new Avante Platform
It will tell the story of growing high-growth start-ups in Johnson City from a dozen in 2016 to more than 90 today.
Chambers of commerce, economic developers, and startup ecosystem builders looking to spark new business growth in their communities are invited to a free webinar from 12 to 1 p.m. EDT on Friday, May 23. Titled “Building Your Start-up Ecosystem from the Ground Up,” the one-hour event hosted by FoundersForge will tell the story of how one small town in Appalachia did just that.
In 2016, Johnson City had just 12 high-growth start-ups. Today, that number has grown to more than 90. Over the past two years alone, more than 250 new businesses have launched or scaled in the region. This transformation wasn’t by chance—it started with a local chamber partnering with a nonprofit to give everyday people the tools to become entrepreneurs.
Growing membership can be an uphill climb for chambers of commerce and business associations, especially when the local business base is limited. This webinar will explore how chambers can expand their reach by fostering entirely new businesses, while also driving economic development and revitalizing their communities.
During the webinar, attendees will:
- Discover how the Avante Bootcamp platform equips communities to guide aspiring entrepreneurs from idea to launch;
- Hear firsthand how a chamber leveraged entrepreneurship as a growth engine for membership and economic resilience; and
- Get actionable steps to replicate this model in their regions.
This event is ideal for chamber leaders, economic developers, city officials, and ecosystem builders who want to activate untapped local talent and grow their startup pipeline from the ground up.
