Emerson Electric increases venture capital commitment

Emerson Electric has revealed plans to boost its corporate venture capital investment, saying it expects to provide $100 million to early stage companies over the next five years.

It will make the investments through Emerson Ventures, its corporate venture capital arm, seeking to provide funding to start-ups developing innovative technologies that align with its industrial offerings and bring new innovation to its customers.

According to this article in St. Louis Inno, Emerson plans to invest in four to six start-ups per year over the next five years. The focus will be on: (1) discrete automation solutions; (2) environmentally sustainable technologies; and (3) industrial software.
