$300K in donations for this year’s Big Give Knox.

Nearly 1,200 people contributed to the missions of Knoxville's non profits through the annual Big Give Knox.

Each year the United Way of Greater Knoxville hosts ‘The Big Give Knox,’ as a way to encourage community members to donate to local nonprofits so they can reach their holiday giving goals. It is annually conducted on Giving Tuesday, which is a tradition that started back in 2012.

It was a competitive year for Knoxville’s nonprofits. The United Way displays a live scoreboard to track the number of donations. This year community members donated more than $300,000 toward local nonprofits.

The organization receiving the most donations was the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont. It raised nearly $65,000 from 120 donors.

The organization ranking second in terms of dollars donated was Knoxville Habitat for Humanity. It raised nearly $30,000 from 67 donors.

The organization ranking third in terms of dollars donated was Street Hope TN. It raised $28,000 from 43 donors.
