Credit Virgin wins voting in “Fall Vol Court” competition

The Anderson Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville announced the winner of its “Fall Vol Court” pitch competition on Tuesday. It is Credit Virgin.

The following message was posted on the “Vol Court” Facebook page:

“FINALLY! First and second place have been decided (BOTH are winners of cash and prizes!)!  Congrats to Nate Buchanan of Credit Virgin who takes first prize, and Mitchell Poythress with Food Find App, who takes second.  Both of them did great jobs on their presentations and Vol Court (and our extended network) look forward to helping you and all of the other Vol Court participants as you continue to develop your business ideas.”

The initial competition was held, ironically, on Election Night – November 6 – and produced the two finalists. The Anderson Center posted videos of the two presentations and asked people to vote for their favorite.

Credit Virgin was profiled on teknovation.biz last month as part of the “ThrottleUp!” competition in which it also competed. Founded by UT student Nate Buchanan, the company is focused on helping college students build a positive credit rating during college years through education and wise decisions.
