Commerce Secretary reestablishes National Advisory Council on Innovation & Entrepreneurship

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo yesterday announced the reestablishment of the National Advisory Council on Innovation & Entrepreneurship (NACIE) and the appointment of 32 leaders and experts to the organization.

As outlined in this news release, NACIE will be charged with developing a national entrepreneurship strategy that strengthens America’s ability to compete and win as the world’s leading start-up nation and as the world’s leading innovator in critical emerging technologies.

The federal advisory committee, which will be managed by the U.S. Economic Development Administration’s Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, will be co-chaired by: (1) Steve Case, Chair and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Revolution and also Co-Founder of AOL; and (2) Kristina M. Johnson, President of The Ohio State University. One of the members is Wendy Lea, Co-Founder and CEO of Energize Colorado who held the same positions at Cincinnati’s Cintrifuse when she keynoted “Future865” in Knoxville in 2017.
