CO.LAB, gener8tor name Managing Director for new Chattanooga accelerator

Donna Ehart, who led the “gener8tor Huntsville Investment Accelerator,” is assuming the reins of the “CO.LAB Sustainable Mobility Accelerator.”

Donna Ehart has been named the inaugural Managing Director of the “CO.LAB Sustainable Mobility Accelerator.”

Previously the Managing Director of the “gener8tor Huntsville Investment Accelerator,” Ehart will be working closely with Rosimar Nieves, The Company Lab’s newly appointed Program Director. The accelerator program, a partnership between the Chattanooga entrepreneur center known as CO.LAB and gener8tor, will be located in Chattanooga and focus on scaling start-ups that have the potential for significant economic, community, and industry impact.

“This new accelerator program is a game changer for Chattanooga,” said Tasia Malakasis, CO.LAB’s Chief Executive Officer. “Donna’s experience in start-ups, business development, and sales will be an invaluable asset to gener8tor, The Company Lab, and Chattanooga as a whole. I truly believe this program, along with Donna’s experience, will help Chattanooga’s national reputation for sustainable mobility development rise even faster.”

“After coming from such an inspiring program in Huntsville, I’m excited to turn my attention to Chattanooga,” said Ehart. “It’s no secret that Chattanooga is a large hub of unparalleled resources, from EPB’s Commercial Quantum Network to UTC’s (University of Tennessee at Chattanooga) Smart Corridor, to the strong presence of the freight industry. Helping scale these mobility-focused start-ups and this city is going to be an incredible experience.”

The “CO.LAB Sustainable Mobility Accelerator” will initially support up to two cohorts of six high-growth sustainable mobility start-ups on a yearly basis, with an initial $20,000 investment into selected companies and additional funding of up to $100,000 at the conclusion of the program. Companies will also receive access to a national network of experienced mentors, technologists, industry experts, venture capitalists, and local corporate partners.

The program is currently accepting applications at this link. The deadline to apply is July 23, and the first cohort begins September 11.
