Check out Knoxville’s Black-owned business directory
February is Black History Month, and a new initiative by Urban Knox is helping plug people into Black-owned businesses.
Damon Rawls started the Knoxville Black Business Directory as an outreach effort to connect the public with the region’s best Black-owned founders, start-ups, and small businesses. His mission is to help black-owned businesses grow and prosper. Currently, the Directory has more than 400 Black businesses listed.
“As an entrepreneur myself, I’ve experienced firsthand how difficult it can be for a small business to succeed in today’s economy. Whether it’s finding financing or marketing your product or service, there are so many obstacles that you have to overcome,” he shared on the website.
In addition to the directory, there’s also an interactive map, where users can find companies close to their neighborhood. They industries are separated into a hundred different categories – ranging from food and music to real estate and landscaping.

Read more about the various businesses in your area – and explore all the offerings in the UrbanKnox Black Business Directory.
