Chattanooga’s FreightWaves named a “soonicorn”

Have you heard the term “soonicorn”? We had not, but came across it last week in reference to a fast-growing Chattanooga company.

The term means “Soon to be a Unicorn,” a play on the “unicorn” description for a privately-held start-up company valued at a billion dollars or more.

Tracxn, a research firm that provides data on start-ups for venture capitalists and corporate development offices, used the word to describe FreightWaves. The company was one of 11 companies named to its “Emerging Start-ups of Data-as-a-Service (DaaS).
