Community Equity Ventures is a new fund from Community Equity Partners that invests in later-stage growth companies in five core verticals in Tennessee and beyond.

One prime example of how the partnership can benefit founders is Wesley Montague from Memphis-based Ship It Pro. His startup is focused on bringing transparency into end-to-end logistics to reduce freight damage, claims, and time-consuming resolution processes.

Three lifelong friends turned an errand-running app into a high-growth refrigerated delivery solution, now backed by Brickyard.

The company said its long-term plans include growing the Oak Ridge workforce as manufacturing scales and continuing to invest in facilities that support defense, energy, and space programs.

For East Tennessee, the announcement adds to the region’s growing footprint in advanced nuclear manufacturing and fuel development. 

The conference was going to take place from Wednesday, January 28, to Thursday, January 29, at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee. It has been postponed to a later date, due to weather concerns.

Edison Partners was the only private equity firm in Tennessee to make the list.
