BioTN Foundation names new leader for its Life Science Mentor Network

The BioTN Foundation, which assumed responsibility for the former Life Science TN Mentor Network after the two organizations announced a strategic alliance in 2019, has named a new Executive Director.

Steven King

Steven King, Principal at Ntelligent Growth Consulting, succeeds Jim Monsor who is stepping down from his day-to-day operations of the program and taking a Director Emeritus role moving forward. Monsor had served in that leadership role since the Network was launched six years ago.

King has more than 30 years experience in the healthcare sector including serving as a senior executive leader for Insight Health Corporation, Eli Lilly & Company and Cardinal Health. He has also logged time at start-up companies, most recently as President, Chief Executive Officer and Board Director of Restore Medical Solutions, a venture-financed manufacturer of sterile processing technology based in Memphis.

The Life Science Mentor Network is the oldest of four industry sector programs for early stage companies supported by Launch Tennessee. The others focus on energy (Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council), automotive (TennSMART), and agriculture (Knoxville Entrepreneur Center in partnership with AgLaunch). All are designed around the Springboard program developed by CONNECT in San Diego.
